OUR HOUSE

Late Victorian, our house was extended by Norman, a retired professor of architecture, in 1999. In bringing extra space and light to the interior including the private guest conservatory, the extension complements the house while not pretending to mimic the original style, a common mistake!

GUEST ACCOMMODATION

Exclusively for the use of our guests (one or two persons), our ground floor suite consists of a twin bedroom which opens onto a small study-conservatory leading to a modern bathroom. The suite has its own independent entrance to the street. The twin bedroom has a colour TV providing the main UK channels, a radio alarm clock, a selection of books, a comfortable armchair and wardrobe and a chest of drawers. Facilities for tea and coffee are provided. The study-conservatory includes a writing table, magazines, stationery and three comfortable chairs. The bathroom is linked to a service annex with small refrigerator, microwave and laundry facilities for use on request.

THE AREA

Our house is within easy walking distance of Kew Gardens (5-7 mins), the National Archives, (3 mins), Kew Gardens Station and Kew Gardens Village, a charming shopping precinct (5 mins). Richmond Park, Chiswick House, Gunnersbury Park, Marble Hill Park, Old Deer Park, Barnes Common and the London Wetlands bird sanctuary are within short driving distance and beyond are Hampton Court and Park, Bushy Park, and Syon House and Park.
